karl wore the fluffy down pullover jacket that his brother mike gave him for the first time the other night (sunday) when we went out to play pool. (we go to dave and buster's, because it's not smoky and you can almost always get a table right away, and they serve you food and drinks right there at the table while you pathetically hit the balls around, trying to look like you know what you are doing, what with all the squatting down to get a line on the ball.) so anyway, the down jacket might be my new favorite toy! it's soft like a pillow! and while wearing it, my sweetie is Activity Karl! at any and all available moments, i was either squeezing his arm then watching the down fluff back up, or smushing his chest or back, or, for variety, both, and watching them puff back up, or playing bumper karl and kind of softly running into him to feel the lovely poofiness that cushioned my impact.

so we played pool and it was very low-key (sunday night) and there were no kids running by our table and putting their little hands right on it and moving the balls oh my god where are the parents! we had burgers and beer (him) and black cherry schapps over cranberry juice (me). the "over under" as they call it, is served in a special glass that has a bigger part on the bottom, then a narrow waist, then a smaller bulbous top part. the mixer goes on the bottom and the alcohol floats on the top. it's very pretty, though difficult to drink. but you get to keep the glass, which was basically the whole reason for getting it.

naturally, i lost all but one of our games, and the only one i won was because karl potted the 8 ball in the wrong pocket. sigh... my dreams of being a pool shark are far from realization.
