happy valentine's day!

you'll have to indulge me today, the first valentine's day as a married gal. i don't generally go in much for valentine's sappiness, and didn't/won't today, but i though i should mark the occasion.

last night while karl was out with his family (at effing john harvard's) i made hart-shaped cutout cookies and frosted them with pink and white icing and sprinkles. wrapped them all individually in plastic bags tied with metallic twist-ties and put the two big ones, specially designed for my sweetie, on his dresser this morning (the rest are to give out at work today, though not many people seem to be here. hmph). he was surprised to see them, and put on one of the biggest smiles i've seen on his face at the thought of all the baked goods i've made recently. (apple pennies (cookies), M&M muffins, frosted valentine's cookies)
