from the reality check files
on npr this morning, there was a story about this guy who had bought thousands and thousands ('and thousands' added for emphasis) of dollars worth of hdtv equipment (92" (*92 inch*, for crying out loud!) hdtv, superbig sofa, lay-z-boys, monster speakers, special lighting...) in anticipation of all tv being broadcast in high-def digital signal. all the networks were supposed to have been broadcasting in high-def by now, but most aren't. so this guy (tim something) has also gotten satellite tv and signal enhancers so he can get whatever small signals are out there. he's really pissed off at the networks about this, because he spent so much money to get outfitted. he thinks the networks should be sanctioned or something.
dude, it's only tv. do you *really* need to see 'everybody loves raymond' in full digital detail?
