currently, this is what my research looks like. the vertical lines are word onsets. e.g. "the girl is kissing a boy" and "the girl is being kissed by a boy." these graphs look better than the previous graphs, believe it or not. you notice in the bottom graph, the two lines are separated right from the start? they shouldn't be. that's what we call an "ESP" effect. that is, the subjects apparently were looking at the target picture more in the red condition than the blue condition, right from the beginning of the trial, before they could possibly have had any way of knowing what to look at. rrrrrg.
