happy birthday karl!

today karl turned 25. he's all i'm-getting-old about it, even though i keep ketting fake angry at him (on *my* next birthday i will be a shocking 27) and telling him that 25 is NOT OLD GOD DAMN IT.

i've got a whole pile of gifts for him, that i've bought randomly for christmas and birthday, and now i have to figure out which i'm giving him for christmas and which for his birthday. i think the list will go like this:

birthday

photo of us, in frame

small blue rug for his bathroom floor, which is *cold* in the morning

key ring (he just keeps his keys loose in his pocket. i have *no idea* how he hasn't lost them all by now)

sweater (aka 'jumper')

bathrobe (again with the cold bathroom)

edible body paints (nudge nudge wink wink say no more)

small tool kit (the boy needs *tools* i tell you what)

christmas

dish rack (for drying dishes)

funny socks (he's got quite a collection already)

funny boxers (also with the collection. but these have *flames* on them)

mix CD (yeah yeah, very high school, i know)

coffee bean grinder (he just saturday bought a coffee maker)

dartboard (with those soft rubber-tipped darts so he won't put holes in his walls. or rather, so *i* won't put holes in his walls)

tonight we're going to the dicken's inn, an english bar at 2nd and south, to celebrate. hopefully, with his brother and sister-in-law, and some friends of his from work.
