book of the dead
i saw 'the others' (that thriller with nicole kidman, who has the most perfect skin ever--she's like a friggin porcelain doll, that woman) the other night. it was good, i do so like nicole kidman, and thought she did a lovely job. anyway, there's this part where she discovers a book of the dead, which is a book of photographs of members of a family who have died--a final record of their appearance. she's freaked out by it, of course. anyway, last night i had a dream in which i found my grandfather's (dadat's) picture in a book of the dead.
that's all.

whiney whiney italy
have you heard how whiney the italians are being? following their defeat to south korea in the round of 16, they've whined non-stop about how the ecuadorian referee showed favoritism to south korea (by disallowing a goal by damiano tommasi for offsides and sending francesco totti off for diving in the penalty box), how there was a conspiracy among the higher-ups of soccer to oust italy, and how "in international football [they] are an important team," so they should have won that game. whatever. anyway, the latest in this pathetic story is that the italian club team perugia has fired ahn jung-hwan, who plays (played) for perugia during the regular season but played for south korea during this game, and scored the 'golden goal' that put south korea through to the quarter finals. perugia manager gaucci said "ahn [will] never set foot in perugia again. he was a phenomenon only when he played against italy. ... i have no intention of paying a salary to someone who has ruined italian soccer."
oh, for crying out loud.
