maybe it was the thai iced coffee?

could it be, perhaps, that i had a thai iced coffee with dinner that i can't sleep now? not that i've tried, but jeezus keeRIST! it's 2:01AM and i'm already on my second (second!) entry for today.

speaking of thai iced coffee, the shanty tent thai restaurant in my 'hood was busted by the cops. cited for all sorts of violations. every box on the citation sheet was checked: no food license, no liquor license, health code this, fire code that... it was this lovely thai family's backyard on the northeast corner of 45th and sansom in west philly--they fenced it in, put up some blue tarps for walls, and served dee-lish-ous food for cheap. and i mean CHEAP. for $12, two people could have loads of food (did i mention it's delicious?), beers, and thai iced coffees. knowing about that place, and introducing others to it, made me feel cool.

in boy news, i took eloi's advice and wrote to martin (for reference, see this entry). my email to him:

martin, i know you're wicked busy trying to move and get work whipped into shape, but i'd love to see you again, soon. may i buy you dinner, say, saturday? or perhaps tempt you with a picnic in fairmount park?

that was okay, right? i have this fear of coming across as desperate. which i'm not, but i think (know) that desperation is a huge turnoff. so i DON'T want to go there.
